Mason - I broke one of your bulbs...I'm really sorry...
Amanda - Well, do you know if this is going to work with one missing?
Mason - I think so . It's not the old kind. They are not in a chain. It just might set it on fire.
Amanda - I hope so.! Not the setting it on fire part...
Mason - You know, we can just string'em now and then we won't turn it on ...
Amanda - Hey Mason!
Mason - Yeah?
Amanda - I really wanna thank you for coming...cos' I know you are busy today and it was really short notice but , my roomate's out of town and I want to get these up and surprise her. Oh...can...wow!
Mason - Do you need me to help with that one?
Amanda - Yeah! Could you maybe wrap your arms around ...me?
Mason - Yeah...
Amanda - ...and then pull it through ? Ok, like that.
Mason - Ok, so...
Amanda - You know what this reminds me of?
Mason - Uh..
Amanda - That silly little tradition of mistletoe and ...how you hang them up on the ceiling and... do you know what that is?
Mason - Yeah, I mean...I know but I've never actually had mistletoe. I've never been around mistletoe because I'm Jewish and all that...
Amanda - I actually grow some in my little herb garden in the kitchen...
Mason - Herb garden?
Amanda - I was thinking I could go down and get the replacement bulb for that and then we could hang one right here and then...since you're Jewish and you're not familiar with the tradition, we could maybe go through what the steps might be ...so that you're prepared for when you go to a Christmas party...I don't want you to not know what to do. Is that ok?
Mason - You know , whatever . I don't want you to have to go out of your way like...
Amanda - Well, I've been growing them all year and I'd really like to show you. Are you even listening to me?

| A dog-eat-dog world !!! | |
| Larissa | You know J.B, these seats are reserved for the pregnants and old folks. |
| J.B | I'm pregnant, too. Look at me. See how big my belly is ? |
| Larissa | That's your normal belly, isn't it ? You better stop drinking beer. Don't be silly. |
| J.B. | Oh, alright. I guess I'll stand up. Just because I know you are right about the pregnancy. |
| Larissa | That's very kind of you. I know it's common to not give up your seat when you are very tired... but we should know that we must respect the law. |
| J.B. | I guess it's more of a dog-eat-dog world when everyone cares about itself. |
| Explanation : |
| Dog-eat-dog - a situation in which people will do anything to be successful, even if what they do harms other people |
| Example : In this election process, it's dog eat dog for every candidate for the presidency. Dilma talks about Fernando Henrique Cardoso while Serra brings back the big monthly case. That's what election really is...dog eating dog all the time ! |
| Hold your horses !!! | |
| J.B. | What day is today? |
| Lari | It's September 18th. It's saturday. It's a nice day! |
| J.B. | Oh, my gosh! I forgot to pay the alimony. My ex-wife is going to kill me! |
| Lari | Hold your horses, teacher! Can't she wait till monday? |
| J.B. | You don't know her. Last year I forgot to pay and she called the police to put me under arrest. |
| Lari | OK, OK. Hold your horses. We will find a way around it. Be patient! |
| Explanation : | |||
| Hold your horses - Slow down, be patient | |||
| Example : Anderson told Michelle to hold her horses on Christmas shopping, since it is only September. | |||
