*There are many ways to study English, but many students ask which is the most effective. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a single answer that is right for every student. However ... I can certainly give advice I some helpful guidelines as to how to study that should help. Let's see one by one:
*** Warming-up to Study English
** Just as there are exercises to help you warm up before you play some basketball or other sport, there are exercises which can help you warm up to study English. I'm going to suggest some simple exercises to help you warm up.
First Exercise: Activating Your Vocabulary
**Activate your vocabulary by thinking or speaking briefly about the subject you are about to work on. For example, if we are going to study English on topics that focuses on vacations,let's take a moment to think about our last vacation, what we did, what we enjoyed, etc. This simple exercise will help our brain warm-up to vocabulary that we are likely to encounter as we study English about this particular subject.
** Try to answer these questions.
a) Where were you on your last vacation?
b) How did you like it?
c) Have you run into someone there?
d) If you were free for a week , where would you like to go to?
e) How often do you travel?
f) Do you like to travel with a friend or a relative? Why?
g) Have you ever visited the City of Rio De Janeiro?
h) What Brazilian city wouldn't you go if you were invited to?
Second exercise: Activating Your Grammar
** Activate your grammar by thinking about the general grammar area before you begin to study. For example, if we are going to study English grammar focusing on the past, let's stop for a while to think about what we did last weekend, where we went, etc. to help activate what we already understand about using the past. As with activating vocabulary, we'll help our brain bring up what it knows about the past simple in an easy way before we begin to focus on studying English grammar in detail.
Some more questions :
a) What were you doing on last sunday afternoon ?
b) How was the weather treating you on saturday?
c) What did you have for lunch on last sunday?
d) What have you done after dinner on last saturday?
e) Did you enjoy your last weekend? Why?
f) How did your parents spend their weekend?
g) Did you hang out with friends on saturday?
Third Exercise - Singing a Song
** Before class begins, or before you sit down to study English sing a song in English to yourself. Make sure to use a song that you understand and know very well. This short and fun exercise will help your brain focus on the English language in a relaxing manner. It's important to be relaxed when you study English! Singing a song also helps activate the creative side of your brain which can help you come up with more examples as your practice conversation or do some creative writing.Let's try to sing this simple Bryan Adams'song sang by Nick Carter. "Do I Have to cry for you"
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Don't wanna close the door
Don't wanna give up on it
Don't wanna fight no more
We'll find a way around it
Where's the love we had?
We can make it last
Tell me what I gotta be
Tell me what you wanna do?
Cause I can't live my life
The way you want me to
You know we can't go on, living like we do
Do I have to cry for you?
Do I have to cry for you?
So tell me what it's for
If there's no winner on it
Nobody's keeping score
Let's start from the beginning
Can we make it last?
With the love we have
Tell me what I gotta be?
Tell me what you wanna do?
Cause I can't live my life the way you want me to
You know I can't go on, living like we do?
Do I have to cry for you?
Do I have to cry for you?
Do I gotta stay in the cold dark night till the morning light, yeah
Do I have to say 'I won't let you ! get away'
What do I gotta be?
Tell me what wanna do?
I can't live my life, the way you want me to
You know I can't go on, living like we do?
Do I have to cry for you?
Yeahh, yeeaaahhhh
You know I can't go on, living like we do
Do I have to cry for you?
Do I have to cry for you?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
*** As you can see I better keep teaching cos' I don't have any talent to be a singer.
Forth Exercise: Typing a Short Paragraph in English
I think that you were a little concerned about the written English; but, as I told you before, in this first stage we are not going to write a lot. I will focus our lessons on conversation and vocabulary building. therefore If you going to study English at your desk, begin by typing a simple paragraph in English. You can type about your day, your hobbies, your friends,your new English teacher, yourself etc. Anything will do. Typing helps activate the kinetic part of your brain that helps improve learning through physical activity. I also recommend typing while you study the English grammar I'll send you through your blog as additional material.. This will help solidify your knowledge with movement.
Fifth exercise - A Thousand Words ...
There is a saying I like a lot." A picture is worth a thousand words". What about activating the creative side of your brain by trying to describe a photo or other image. You can combine use this also to activate your vocabulary by choosing a picture that has something to do with the subject your are going to study in English. Try to describe your feelings about the picture below:

** Now describe this one:

Building Vocabulary
1- What's up? - Como vimos em nossa primeira aula , "what's up" é uma expressão idiomática que pode ser usada de diversas formas .
* Somebody is looking at you and you can't understand the reason.
** What's up?
* sorry?
** Why are you looking at me?
* Am I?
** Do I know you ?
* Not yet.
................................................
2- To keep the ball rolling - Também vimos que a expressão "keep the ball rolling" nada tem a ver com "manter a bola rolando" e sim indica que algo vai começar.
** Are you ready to begin your personal English Course?
* Yeah! I think so.
** So , without further ado , let's keep the ball rolling.
* Let's what? What do you mean?
** Keep the ball rolling means start something immediately.
* Ok. Let's do it!
...............................................
3- To blow the roof of the mother - se eu traduzisse essa expressão palavra por palavra talvez sua adorável mãe nunca mais me trataria tão bem. Com certeza ela não gostaria que alguém soprasse seu teto; afinal ela não está no conto dos três porquinhos ...três porquinhos? Considerando que vocês são palmeirenses...bem , o fato é que essa expressão significa outra coisa. Como vimos na aula , blow the roof of the mother significa "arrasar", "detonar" ,"arrebentar".
** I heard that Muricy Ramalho is going to train Palmeiras.
* Oh my goodness! Really?
** Yeah , he is going to sign tomorrow.
* If this is truth , we will blow the roof of the mother this year.
................................................
4- guidelines - instrução, diretriz, dicas
* I'm going to Rio de Janeiro next week.
** Have you ever been there before?
* No, this is gonna be my first time there.
** In this case let me give you some guidelines about the city.
* Is it really necessary?
** Rio is a wonderful city but there are some dangerous places you must avoid.
................................................
5- To run into someone = Nada a ver com " correr em direção á alguem" , esse verbo frasal significa "encontrar alguém ocasionalmente" , "sem querer"
* I was at the beach trying to rest a little after 8 years of hard work when...
** When what? What's up?
* You are not gonna believe me.
** Don't keep me on suspense ...speak up!
* Well, I run into some students of mine there.
** Really? Your students can't be without you for a long time.
...................................................
6- How often - Com que frequência
* How often do you have english class?
** I have english lessons once a week , every wednesday night.
* How often do you travel?
** I travel twice a year.

English pronunciation.
...........................
1- fast - rápido,ligeiro,veloz
2- past - passado
3- last - último,durar
....................................
## Muitas vezes ao tentarmos falar fast,past,last , acabamos falando fest,pest,lest.
* pést/fést/lést
* pást/fást/lást
