1- How would you describe yourself?

* I believe a person must be honest in his relationship and dedicated to his proffession. Be selfconfident to solve problem in its best solution.

2- Why did you leave your last job?

* Actually I didn't leave any job considering that this is my first experience . I found myself bored with my condition and looking for more challenges. I am an excellent candidate and I didn't want my unhappiness to have any impact on my future. I'm really ready to face this challenge.

3- What are your long range and short range goals and objectives?

* My short range goal is to get a job in a great growing company like yours.( That's why I am here today) And my long range goal is to attain a high position in the organization where I can contribute to the growth of the company.

* As far as I'm concerned long-term goals are best achieved when you break them into shorter goals. My short-term goal is to find a position that will place me in a forward-moving company with solid performance and future projections. As part of a team, I want to add value and continue to grow the company. My long-term goal will depend on where the company goes or where the company wants to go. My plan is to move into a position of responsibility where I can manage a team.

Ao estudarmos Inglês devemos prestar muita atenção com os cognatos...alguns nos levam a achar que determinada palavra ou verbo significa algo , quando na verdade a tradução é completamente diferente. São palavras que parecem muito com alguma que conhecemos em Português...mas apenas parecem. Alguma vez você já pensou que "parents" significava "parentes" e que "college" era colégio ?.E o que dizer do verbo "to pretend"? Aposto que você tinha quase certeza que se tratava de " pretender", porém seu significado é fingir...porque "pretender " na verdade é "to intend" , que nada tem a ver com "entender", pois entender é "to understand", entendeu? Nem eu, kkkk. Na minha carreira como professor de Inglês, já vi muitos colegas professores cairem na armadilha dos falsos cognatos e não posso mentir que eu também já fui e ainda serei vítima desses "falsos amigos". Certa vez , em uma apostila para um curso pré - vestibular, escrevi a seguinte frase : " I pretend to be your best teacher ever...you just need to believe in it". Minha intenção era dizer " Eu pretendo ser o melhor professor que voces tiveram...basta que acreditem nisso". Mas usei o verbo "pretend" que significa fingir...e a frase ficou totalmente estranha. O único meio de não cairmos nessas armadilhas é estudarmos os "false friends" e mesmo assim ainda estaremos em risco.


A DAY AT WORK

In the morning Larissa attended a meeting between management and union representatives. The discussion was very comprehensive, covering topics like working hours, days off, retirement age, etc. Both sides were interested in an agreement and ready to compromise. The secretary recorded everything in the notes. Eventually, they decided to set a new meeting to sign the final draft of the agreement.
Back at the office, a colleague of her asked her if She had realized that the proposed agreement would be partially against the company policy not to accept workers that have already retired. She pretended to be really busy and late for an appointment, and left for the cafeteria. Actually, She didn't want to discuss the matter at that particular moment because there were some strangers in the office.
After lunch She attended a lecture given by the mayor, who is an expert in tax legislation and has a graduate degree in political science. He said his government intends to assist welfare programs and senior citizens, raise funds to improve college education and build a public library, and establish tougher limits on vehicle emissions because he assumes this is what the people expect from the government.
