The following is a dialogue between Wesley and Bruno.They are two students of mine. While studying it, think of the following questions. Read the dialogue as many times as you want.

3- What does Wesley ask Bruno to do?
4- Is Wesley going to hang up and try calling Bruno again?

### We seem to have a bad connection on the phone


Wesley : I can hardly hear you, Bruno!
Bruno : Oh, we seem to have a bad connection on this phone.
Wesley : Could you speak up, please?
Bruno : I'm talking as loud as I can.
Wesley : I'm going to hang up and call again.
Bruno : All right!
Wesley : Hello, can you hear me now?
Bruno : Oh, yeah! Now it's much better. What do you want from me?
Wesley : Actually, I was worried about you...
Bruno : Worried? What for?
Wesley: Well, I was trying to get a hold of you all day long yesterday.
Bruno : Really?
Wesley: Yeah! I thought you were angry at me.
Bruno : No way!

The following is a dialogue between João Luís and Renata. While studying it, think of the following questions. Read the dialogue as many times as you want.

Renata : What's wrong with your phone, João? I tried to call you all night last night.
João : I'm sorry. No one was able to get through yesterday. My telephone was disconnected by the phone company.
Renata : What happened? Didn't you pay the bill ?
João : Well...er...I forgot.
Renata : This is the second time you forget to pay the bill.
João : Actually I was tied up with other things.
Renata : I know , but try do not put the essencial decisions aside.
João : I got it!!!

As we are in a competitive world, once in a while we take ourselves comparing people. There are many ways to compare...you can say , for example , that Ellen is as beautiful as Michelle or that J.B. is not so smart as Gabriel. This kind of comparision is called " Comparative of equality"
