What/Where/When/Why/Whose/Which/Who/How

*In this lesson let's learn some important words we use to create interrogative sentences. they are the questions words.The structure is very easy to understand. First you put the question word, second the auxiliar and then the verb.

*What = O que ou qual
*Where = Onde
*When = Quando
*Why = Por que
*Whose = De quem
*Which = Qual
*Who = Quem
*How = como

*What is your father?
#My father is an engineer.

*Where does he work?
#He works in a office downtown.

*When does he work?
#He works everyday.

*Why are you studying English?
#Because I have a friend in the U.S.A.

*Whose car is it?
#It is Marisa's car.

*Which fruit do you want. Orange or apple?
#I want apple , because I don't like orange.

*Who is your teacher?
#My teacher is J.B.

*How well does he teach?
#He teaches very well.

Expressions:

*How old = to be

#In Brazil when somebody wants to know someone's age , just uses the verb have . In the U.S.A. , They use the verb to be. So, if you ask: " How old do you have?" everybody will understand you, even though you have made a big mistake.By the other hand , if you say :" How old are you?" they will understand you much better and certainly you haven't made any mistake.

*How old is your mother?
#My mother is thirty one years old.

*How old is your teacher?
#My teacher is thirty six year old.

*How old are your brothers?
#They are seven and eight years old.

*How old are you?
#I am ..........years old.
